1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport
This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu sport coupe was modified and refurbished circa 2018 with a replacement 454ci V8, a Tremec five-speed manual transmission, and a limited-slip differential. The car rides on Ridetech adjustable coilovers and control arms along with 17″ Year One Magnum-style wheels that are mounted over four-wheel disc brakes. The exterior is finished in Monaco Orange with black stripes and features SS-style details and a cowl induction hood, while the cabin is outfitted with a Muncie shifter, a full-length console, a tilt steering wheel, Vintage Air climate control, and front bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl.
The body has been repainted in the shade of Monaco Orange, per the selling dealer, and styling details include black stripes, an SS-style grille and taillight panel, chrome bumpers, and oblong exhaust finishers. The cowl induction hood was fitted with replacement components during the build.
Year One Magnum-style aluminum 17″ wheels are mounted with Nitto NT555 G2 tires. The car rides on a lowered suspension with Ridetech control arms, adjustable coilovers, and sway bars. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with red calipers and slotted/drilled rotors.
The front bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl and are separated by a full-length center console with a Muncie shifter. The cabin is appointed with Vintage Air climate control and SS-style door panels and floor mats.
The Comfort Grip-style steering wheel sits on a tilting column ahead of a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a clock, and supplementary readouts. Auxiliary displays for oil pressure and coolant temperature are mounted below the dashboard.
The replacement 454ci V8 was installed in 2016, and it was assembled with ARP fasteners and Felpro gaskets. Induction is handled by a Holley Street Avenger carburetor, and cooling is aided by an aluminum radiator. The fuel tank and sending unit were replaced during the build.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle with a limited-slip differential. A dual-friction clutch kit and a Lakewood bell housing were fitted with the transmission was installed in 2018. Hedman Elite long-tube headers flow to stainless-steel mufflers.
