1971 GMC Jimmy
refurbished and modified by installing a 5.3-liter L33 HO V8 that is paired with a rebuilt 4L60-E four-speed automatic transmission, repainting the body in green and white, installing a Chevrolet front grille and K5 Blazer badging, and reupholstering the seats in Parchment vinyl with green plaid inserts. Additional equipment includes a removable white hard top, 15″ Rally-style wheels, power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, a dual-exit exhaust, and aftermarket air conditioning and speakers.
The body was removed from the frame during the refurbishment and the seller reports that it was refinished in Dark Olive Poly and Fremont White following the installation of replacement rockers, rocker boxes, the outer floor, and patch panels behind the doors. Additional work reportedly included replacing the woodgrain molding, chrome bumpers, headlight bezels, front grille, tailgate molding, windshield, and various trim pieces including K5 Blazer badging. Raptor liner coats the fender wells.
Additional refurbishment work is said to include replacing or installing the following:
- Pinion seals, inner axle seals, bearings, rotors, wheel seals, wheel studs, brake lines, calipers, and pads
- Rear wheel spacers
- Fabricated power steering lines
- CPP Double D rag joint eliminator and shaft
- Tie rods and steering arm linkages
- Gas shocks
- Front leaf springs and bushings
- Rear ORD 1″ axle offset plates
- The front bucket seats and rear bench were reupholstered in Parchment vinyl with green plaid inserts during the refurbishment. Additional work is said to have included replacing the dash pad, carpeting, door internals, and seals as well as installing a rebuilt power steering gearbox and an Old Air Products air conditioning system. The AM radio is accompanied by a Rockville 4-channel Bluetooth amplifier with a subwoofer, and aftermarket speakers.
